Aritha
Aritha, Reetha or Soapnuts is also called as Arishtak in Ayurveda and “Soap nut tree” in India. It is well known for its traditional medicinal uses and is commonly used as a hair cleanser.
Aritha will make hair shiny, healthy and lustrous. It provides nourishment to the scalp and promotes hair regrowth. Reetha powder can be mixed with warm water to form a paste which can be used to massage the scalp to help manage dandruff and also remove lice from the scalp due to its insecticidal properties.
Aritha can be used on the skin as a body wash. It also helps manage skin infections such as eczema, psoriasis and pimples. Aritha can be used as a wound cleanser as it accelerates healing and stops secondary infections.
Shikakai
Shikakai has been used for hair care in India for hundreds of years. The pods, leaves and the bark of the Shikakai tree is a rich source of Vitamin A, C, D, E and K. Shikakai translates to “fruit for hair” and is a core part of traditional Ayurvedic medicine. It is a herb especially used for reducing hair loss and dandruff. Shikakai can be used alone or in combination. It nourishes the hair, creating shine and preventing greying.
